Principal's Message
Dear Garden Road Families,
Welcome to a brand new school year filled with endless possibilities and exciting adventures! As the principal of Garden Road, I am delighted to extend my warmest greetings to each and every one of you. Whether you are returning students or joining our school family for the first time, I am thrilled to have you here.
We believe in nurturing the potential of every student and empowering them to become leaders in their own lives. We are proud to embrace the principles of the Leader in Me program, which encourages you to discover the leader within you and develop skills that will serve you throughout your life.
This year, our dedicated team of educators is committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment where you can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We will encourage you to set goals, challenge yourself, and take ownership of your learning journey. Remember, you have the power to shape your destiny and make a difference in the world around you.
As you embark on this exciting new chapter, I urge you to embrace the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People that are at the heart of the Leader in Me program. Begin by being proactive, taking initiative and being responsible for your actions. Seek to understand others' perspectives and work together collaboratively. Prioritize your tasks and manage your time effectively. Think win-win and find solutions that benefit everyone. Listen attentively to others and communicate effectively. Synergize by valuing differences and working together to achieve greatness. Finally, sharpen the saw by taking care of your physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being.
Once again, welcome to Garden Road. I am honored to be a part of your educational journey, and I look forward to witnessing your growth and achievements throughout the year. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] or call 858-748-0230 with any questions, suggestions, or comments. We are going to be a great team!
With warm regards,
Sue Melnick
